alright so I've now made several beautiful corset belts with your pattern, and while they are soooo sooo pretty, the wrights grommet tape pulls apart something terrible. Im not putting excessive pressure on it either, just enough to keep it on the hips and damn, it just falls right apart. I am wanting to know if you are using a more industrial version of what I am finding at my local fabric shop. Do you have issues with this stuff falling apart? Is there something better you have found than the wrights grommet tape? I have decided to not use it at all until I find something stronger, so for now I am using loops of ribbon instead, but I really like the look of grommet tape and I'd love to find a stronger one than what I've been using. Thanks for any help :)

Re: regarding the grommet tape...
Tue, March 25, 2008 - 10:43 AMSince I originally published the pattern, the quality of Wright's trim has gone downhill and is very inconsistent. Some batches are good, most seem to be shit. When I have time to re-write and re-design the pattern (the original files were lost in my harddrive/motherboard frying in 2004, so everything must be typed and layed out all over again), I'm going to remove that info.
The place I get mine from is wholesale only with a very large minimum order, but you can get similar-quality in a variety of styles/sizes at Lucy's, lucysfabrics.com - which is far more durable and consistent in quality than Wright's. You can order it by the yard, and Laura from Lucy's is very friendly and knowledgeable.

Tue, March 25, 2008 - 11:33 PMI highly recommend Lucy's Fabrics! Very nice service and their shipping is shockingly fast sometimes. Though they have a time chart on when to expect it. The tape is the best I've used so far!
